TVNHS Conducts Seminar on PWDs’ Rights

Atty. Ma. Regina Rendal-Evangelista as she comprehensively discussed the legal bases on the rights of PWDs and LWDs.

In support of Proclamation No. 744 known as “WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES DAY” and in consonance with the Women’s month celebration, Tropical Village National High School hosted a seminar on Legal Bases on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, earlier today, April 13.

The one-day seminar aimed to raise public awareness of the situation of women with disabilities and to promote positive attitudes, role models and opportunities for their development.

“ Napakahalaga ng mga seminars para sa mga kaparatan ng mga persons with disabilities hindi lamang para sa mga kaguruan, sa mga mag-aaral, kungdi para rin sa ating mga magulang para mas lalo nilang maprotektahan ang kanilang learners with disabilities at ma-uphold ang mga karapatang binibigay ng ating gobyerno para sa kanila”, Atty. Evangelista said.

The discussant, Atty. Ma. Regina Rendal-Evangelista, Clerk of Court V, RTC Branch 90, Dasmariñas City, comprehensively discussed the legal bases on the rights of PWDs and LWDs that are aligned with the context of DepEd, such as RA 7277, known as the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, DepEd Order No. 044, s. 2021, or the Anti-Bullying Act, and DepEd Order pertaining to Child Protection Policy.

During her talk, she emphasized the topic that a child who is physically, mentally, or socially handicapped shall be given the special treatment, education, and care required by his or her particular condition.

The seminar was attended by selected parents, students, and teachers who, at the end of the seminar, gained so much knowledge and understanding about PWDs and LWDs’ rights.
