The Special Program for Foreign Language—Korean Language—was launched at Tropical Village High School for selected students from the 9th and 10th grades. It was led and made possible by the Principal IV, Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus.
According to him, “The program aims to provide a different learning experience to learners who are willing to study and learn other language, such as Korean or Hangul.”
“I am also thankful to the EPS in-charge of SPFL Mr. Arnaldo O. Estareja, PSDS of Cluster 8 Dr. Rogin O. Contemprato, for the technical assistance and to SDO Gen. Trias City headed by Dr. Daisy Z. Miranda, CESO V, for the guidance and support”, he added.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Dayren Bawalan, Teacher III, conducted the orientation for those who will undergo the study of the Korean language. She discussed the do’s and dont’s in her class, on January 8th of the current year.
According to Mrs. Bawalan, “the children’s feedback on learning the Korean language is positive because many attended the first day of my class. I just wish that they would go straight and finish until the last day of the class”.
She also emphasized that it is important for fellow students to finish the Korean Language class because they will be able to use it in the future especially when they go to Senior High School and College.
Meanwhile, on January 15, 2024, the first language study session was started, which was attended by 25 students from the ninth and 10th grades.
Some students were happy with this new program like Marian G. Maderazo, Grade – 9 Chromium, “I was excited because it was my first time to study the Korean Language and I feel that it is fun to study like “annyeonghaseyo” which means hi!, hello!, and goodbye” “appa” for dad and “omma” for mom” that I learned on the first day.
“I also want to learn the Korean language because I dream of going to Korea to work there and see my idol, Jennie of Blackpink”, she added.
Generally, the students expressed their positive reaction on the first day of conducting the Korean Language class.
