On April 1, 2024, Tropical Village National High School and Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL) officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding of their partnership in spreading the culture of peace that will start in the four corners of the classroom.
HWPL is a non-governmental organization in Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This organization aims to engage leaders of all walks of life and civil society, including youth, in seeking sustainable and comprehensive solutions for peace.
This organization is willing to share the basic contents of the HWPL Peace Education Curriculum to be utilized by the teachers of the school for its learners.
Meanwhile, there was a program held before the MOU signing. It was facilitated by Mrs. Dayren B. Bawalan, Teacher III. Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III, gave a warm welcome to the attendees, which included selected students, some teachers, and special guests.
Dr. Rogin O. Contemprato, PSDS of Cluster 8, delivered a meaningful message during the program.
He was followed by Dr. Yolanda D.C. Lumanog, EPS of Araling Panlipunan and Division Madrasah Education Program (MEP) Coordinator, who also delivered a message for the participants.
Moreover, Ms. Clair Jeon, International Coordinator of HWPL Peace Education, South Seoul Branch, delivered her message via video message. She was followed by Ms. Sandra Kim, Philippine Branch Coordinator International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) who was present in the event.
In addition, Ms. Arriane Nolasco, Peace Education National Secretary, tackled comprehensively the overview of the activities.
Lastly, Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Principal IV, expressed his message of acceptance of the partnership.
