TVNHS Holds Science Month Celebration
In line with Proclamation No. 264 s. 2022, the MATATAG K to 10 Curriculum of the K to 12 Program (Science Curriculum), DepEd Order No. 009 s. 2024, and School Memorandum 2024-08-001, the school, through the Science Department headed by Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III, under the guidance of Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Principal IV, conducted the Science Month Celebration with the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan” from September 16-20, 2024.
On September 16, 2024, multiple students participated in the first activity, the “On the Spot TikTok Challenge,” held in the Physics Laboratory. Following that, a “Jingle-Making Contest” was held in the Physics Laboratory from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on September 17, 2024. In the Science Laboratory, Grades 7 and 10 participated in a “Decorative Pot-Making Contest” using PET bottles on September 18, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 nn.
Moreover, on September 19, 2024, Grades 8 and 9 participated in the craft-making activity. An Edible Science Model was also completed in the Science Laboratory on September 18, 2024, ahead of the participant orientation, which was conducted on September 13, 2024.
Additionally, an elimination round for the “Scientist Look-Alike” student category took place, featuring 17 participants from different sections across Grades 7 to 10. The Science Month Celebration concluded with a closing program on September 20, 2024, where the winners from various activities were recognized.
The event was attended by Dr. Rogin Contemprato, PSDS Cluster 8, Maricel P. Malabanan, EPS-Science Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Principal IV, alongside Head Teacher III Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher I Mrs. Susan C. Sibulo, and the Science teachers.
The closing ceremony was an unforgettable event that brought together both students and teachers in a collaborative and celebratory atmosphere. It provided a platform for participants to proudly display their creativity, skills, and innovative ideas, which had been cultivated throughout the various contests and activities held during Science Month. The sense of achievement and camaraderie was evident, as everyone shared in the excitement of the final presentations and the announcement of winners, making the event a truly remarkable conclusion to the celebration.
