TVNHS on Raising Awareness on Employees’ Health and Safety in the Workplace

On September 20, 2024, held in the TVNHS Multipurpose room, TVNHS in collaboration with the Bondservants Organization Inc., conducted a seminar on “Raising Awareness on Teachers’ Health and Safety in the Workplace” for a selected group of teaching and teaching-related personnel in support of Republic Act No. 11058 and the MATATAG curriculum .
Bondservants Organization Inc. organized this seminar on health and safety awareness in the workplace. Republic Act No. 11058, also known as An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Providing Penalties for Violation, was created to ensure a hazard-free workplace for all working personnel by providing them with full protection against all workplace hazards.
Engr. Andy B. Azucena, BSO Administrative Officer, served as a resource speaker for this seminar. He reiterated the principles of safety and security in a working environment. He said, “Safety is not the first priority but a pre-requisite.”
He also demonstrated the proper signals for asking help, along with the hand signals and tap-knockings. The subtle way of asking help by the “ordering Pizza” was also mentioned, if in case, an individual is under such circumstances.
The volunteers were assisted by Engr. Andy B. Azucena, BSO Administrative Officer, for the accuracy of the usage of the fire extinguisher, how to properly execute a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the Drop Cover and Hold.
As the seminar flowed smoothly, teachers and other attendees were encouraged to apply all the discussion and disseminate these to their colleagues, students and their families. They were also given safety policies as added precautions.
The Bondservants Organization Inc. was given a certificate of recognition and appreciation by Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Principal IV. As the said organization also handed out a token of appreciation and a certificate to Dr. Creus and to the TVNHS School, along with the teachers who attended the seminar.
