
With the aim of equipping participants with the skills needed to write a research paper and guiding teachers and students in formulating research titles and developing statements of the problem, Tropical Village National High School successfully conducted a two-day seminar entitled “UPSKILLING TEACHERS AND STUDENTS IN WRITING A RESEARCH PAPER” on February 19-20, 2025, at the TVNHS Multipurpose Room.
The first day of the seminar was attended by selected teachers who are research enthusiasts, while the second day was participated in by Grade 11 and selected Grade 10 learners.
The two-day program began with preliminary activities facilitated by selected teachers. Mrs. Lea P. Amon, Head Teacher I, presented the participants.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, the School Head, gave his welcome remarks, while Mrs. Lina M. Potante, Master Teacher I, provided an overview of the activity.
Mrs. Jenilyn S. Loyola, Master Teacher II and Resource Speaker, comprehensively discussed the differences between Basic and Action Research with the participants.
Furthermore, she provided a comprehensive discussion on the proper way to structure the key components of a research paper, including the Rationale, Introduction, Review of Related Literature, and other essential sections.
In addition, Mrs. Loyola introduced various online resources that can assist participants in streamlining their research process, making it more efficient and manageable.
Following her presentation, Ms. Arlyn F. Pasa, Teacher II, facilitated an open forum where teacher- and student-participants raised questions and clarifications regarding the topic. Mrs. Loyola addressed their concerns, providing insightful explanations and guidance.
After the discussion, certificates were awarded to the speaker, participants, and the technical working group in recognition of their contributions.
The seminar concluded with closing remarks from Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III, highlighting the significance of research in academic and professional growth.
