UNLOCKING YOUR FUTURE: NAVIGATING CAREER CHOICES AND BUILDING A PATH TO SUCCESS

In support of Republic Act 10533 and Republic Act 11206, TVNHS conducted its annual Career Guidance Advocacy Program with the theme “UNLOCKING YOUR FUTURE: NAVIGATING CAREER CHOICES AND BUILDING A PATH TO SUCCESS” at TVNHS Covered Court, attended by teaching related personnel, selected teachers, and G10 students on March 11-12, 2025.

The two-day activity aimed to guide and assist junior high school students in choosing career tracks that they intend to pursue through informed career choices to become productive and contributing individuals. It also aimed to increase awareness among students regarding available career options, guide the learners understand the importance of career planning.

On the first day, “Enhancing Self-Awareness” was the title of the first session where students had a self-assessment of interest and talents, personal work values and competencies, and rated their skills. The second session is entitled “Exploring Career Pathways” where SHS career interest and career wheel were done. “Goal-Setting and Grounding” was

the title of the last session where students had personal career exploration mapping, a career sector exploration sheet, and a career pathways action plan.

The second day began with a warm welcome from Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Principal IV. Mrs. Angelita P. Allarey, Guidance Advocate, shared the program’s purpose statement, followed by a display of professional costumes by Grade 10 students. The participants were inspired and astonished by the invited speakers from Batch 1998-1999,Mrs. Rosemarie T. Gayas, Teacher I; and Batch 2004-2005, Mrs. Angela Charlotte Francisco, Asst. Unit Manager & Licensed Financial Advisor, Pru Life UK who are former students at TVNHS.

The discussion on choosing the right career path and things they must do in order to attain their dreams was successful. After a quick open forum, the guests received a certificate of recognition, and the students who won the best professional attire received an award.

The seminar concluded with closing remarks from Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III, sharing her own dream, which motivates her to finish college.
