Tropical Village National High School (TVNHS) successfully held its first School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) session for 2025, titled “Seminar-Workshop on Developing Learning Materials for Geometry (Mathematics 7 for STE).” The activity was originally scheduled to be held at the Audio-Visual Room on July 18, 25, and 30, 2025. However, due to inclement weather that led to the suspension of classes, the first day of the seminar was conducted online via Google Meet.

The session commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem through an audio-visual presentation. Mr. Joey Dolindo, Teacher I, introduced the participants. This was followed by opening remarks and a welcome message from Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Principal IV. Mrs. Arlene B. Payaban, Teacher II, then explained the rationale of the activity and provided an overview of the seminar-workshop.

Mrs. Jenilyn S. Loyola, Master Teacher II, facilitated the main discussion, focusing on the components of the Lesson Exemplar, the Students’ Worksheet, and the Technical Specifications for Learning Resource Development.
The second day of the SLAC session focused on output creation, providing participants with the opportunity to apply their learning by drafting lesson exemplars and worksheets based on their assigned topics.
On the final day, held on July 30, 2025, participants presented their outputs. Jenilyn S. Loyola, Master Teacher II, presented her output such as Lesson exemplar and worksheet focusing on the lesson, surface area of solids. Similarly, Loida C. Badillo, Teacher II, also presented her outputs; LE and worksheets about perimeter of polygons. In addition, all Math teachers presented their output on the said activity.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lynnette P. Rue, Education Program Supervisor in Mathematics, and Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus joined the session via Google Meet to offer constructive feedback and technical assistance aimed at enhancing the quality of the submitted materials. Dr. Rue also recommended incorporating more complex and challenging problems, emphasizing that the materials are intended for the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) class.

There was also an awarding of certificates of participation and appreciation to the facilitator and the Technical Working Group (TWG) by Mrs. Lea P. Amon, Head Teacher I. She formally closed the activity, expressing her gratitude to the Mathematics Department for their commitment and collaborative efforts in enhancing the quality of the learning materials presented.
