The reading intervention proposal proponents, Mrs. Jane Dacaymat and Ms. Jennibeth V. Ilagan together with the English teachers, under the headship of Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, School Head, presented their proposal to Ms. Ma. Glecita Columna, EPS in English, October 20.
The project framework, list of activities, as well as sample-crafted worksheets were presented during the session. Ms. Columna provided the team with comprehensive technical assistance on how they would be able to ensure the project’s success. She provided insights and suggestions, particularly on the worksheets to be utilized during the implementation of the 3-month project.
The proposed project is in consonance with DepEd Memorandum No. 173, s. 2019 known as “Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3Bs Initiative)”, with the Division of General Trias 3Rs: Gentri SINuLiD (School Initiative in Numeracy and Literacy Development) which aims to make every learner a proficient reader, and schools across the country are tasked to help learners develop their reading skills.
