The Supreme Secondary Leader Government (SSLG), under the leadership of Wafa O. Omar, SSLG President, and with the guidance of Mr. Samuel Poblete, SSLG Adviser, hosted the Valentine’s Day Program which showcased Tropicalian talents through competitions held at the covered court earlier today, February 14, 2024.
The program began with the singing of the National Anthem and a prayer through an audio-visual presentation (AVP). It was followed by welcome remarks given by Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III; the presentation of judges done by Mr. Samuel D. Poblete; and the mechanics of the contest for Mr. and Ms. Valentine explained by Mrs. Sonia G. Reyes.
Then, it was followed by the presentation of the candidates of Mr. and Ms. Valentine where contestants showcased their costume, poise, and skills in ramping on stage.
Afterwards, Mrs. Emely Castro discussed the mechanics of spoken poetry, which was represented by selected students from Grades 7–10. Contestants exhibited their talent in spoken poetry, which was also one of the activities of the said student organization. It was followed by an intermission number by Aliah Ruth M. Pino and Neval S. Lumambas.
In addition, they also held other contest like Paint your heart – Digital Poster Making which was judged by ICT Teachers namely: Mr. Jeffrey M. Rodil and Mrs. Jacqueline D. Leaban.
Mr. and Ms. Valentines had six winners, with Grade 8 Gen. Ricarte student Christine Gatchalian crowned the overall winner, while Spoken Poetry and Digital Poster Making ranked each Tropicalian student’s poets and artists, with Grade 10 Zeus’s very own Jacob Beniga being hailed as the champion for the Spoken Poetry Category and Grade 10 Hermes Sophia Nicole Romen for Digital Poster Making.
The awarding of certificate was facilitated by Mr. Samuel D. Poblete, together with Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III, Mrs. Susan C. Sibulo, Head Teacher I and the judges of each event.
Generally, the event was well organized and indeed a successful one.
