Science Department Holds One-day Training and Workshop on Science Investigatory Project and Block Programming for Robotics

the Science Department conducted a one-day training entitled “Upskilling Science Teachers and Students on Crafting Science Investigatory Project and Block Programming for Robotics on March 15, 2024.

In line with the MATATAG agenda to make the curriculum relevant to produce competent, job-ready, active, and responsible citizens, as well as give support to teachers to teach better, the Science Department conducted a one-day training entitled “Upskilling Science Teachers and Students on Crafting Science Investigatory Project and Block Programming for Robotics on March 15, 2024.

The activity started with the opening program. Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III, gave her welcome remarks. She also stated the purpose why the said activity was being conducted. Next, Mrs. Lina M. Potante, Master Teacher I, introduced the resource speaker.

The discussant, Mrs. Jane Crystal B. Bayas, Master Teacher I- GFMINHS, discussed how to make a Science Investigatory Project .She discussed the parts of the investigatory project and gave examples of it.

She also gave pointers /guide to students so that they can make their own investigatory project.

In the afternoon session, Mrs. Jane Crystal B. Bayas continued her discussion about block programming for robotics. With the help of the students from Gov. Ferrer Memorial Integrated National High School, who acted as facilitators, students were able to understand robotics.

Students enjoyed the whole-day activity. Everyone became interested in the Science Investigatory Project (SIP) and robotics.

Mrs. Lina M. Potante, Master Teacher I, officially ended the program with her closing remarks.

The seminar was beneficial and memorable since it was packed with new information and elevated awareness on the topic.
