On April 5, 2024, Tropical Village National High School, through the English Department, continued to bring fun learning activities to Tapia Elementary School in their Catch Up Together.
Before the children played, Mrs. Lynn T. Dimacali, Teacher III, asked them to recall some of the words that they learned during the first session. After this, Ms. Jennibeth V. Ilagan, Teacher III, and Mrs. Leizl P. Lorica, Teacher II, facilitated the preliminary activity, which was the popping of the balloons with words in them. The students enjoyed playing this activity while they learned.
Next, Mrs. Jane B. Dacaymat, Teacher III, Ms. Jennibeth V. Ilagan, and Mrs. Susan C. Sibulo, Head Teacher I, facilitated the game called Hagis Pamato, where pupils threw the ‘pamato’ and read words written in the boxes.
Meanwhile, the other group of teachers, namely, Mrs. Lynn T. Dimacali, Mrs. Mary Ann R. Cabello, Teacher III, and Mrs. Leizl P. Lorica, facilitated the other game called Hopscotch or ‘Piko’ for the other group of pupils while they waited for the other group to finish the first game. The games were played simultaneously.
Also, Ma’am Jennibeth V. Ilagan and Ms. Regine C. Reforma, Teacher III, asked the students to spell out the words in the game over and over again for them to remember them.
After the games were finished, Mrs. Susan C. Sibulo and Mrs. Lynn T. Dimacali facilitated the processing of learning, and then they were asked to spell the words that the pupils were having difficulty reading and recognizing.
At the end of the activity, learners were rewarded with the points that they earned in the games, and snacks were also provided for them.
