Tropical Village National High School held Parents’ Orientation earlier today to discuss the upcoming NLC program, which will run from July 1–19.
Under the leadership of Principal IV, Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III, and Mrs. Susan C. Sibulo, Head Teacher I, the event began by explaining the importance of NLC in helping TVNHS learners grow academically.
“The NLC is a way for us to expand learners’ knowledge while also helping them improve,” said Dr. Creus.
The principal also stressed that, with the help of a few voluntary teachers, the students will have fun while learning due to the implementation of activity-based learning in the NLC.
Mrs. Mariglo S. Bayot, Head Teacher III, also explained the NLC’s three camps: intervention, consolidation, and enhancement camps.
“The enhancement is only for improving learners who are already well educated; the consolidation is for learners who barely passed; and the intervention is for those who are truly left behind knowledge-wise,” stated Mrs. Bayot.
Mrs. Bayot also explained that the program is based on DepEd Order No. 14 Series 2023, which addresses NLC.
Additionally, she reminded parents that their children must complete and submit the NLC registration form and parental consent. Remedial classes will run concurrently with the NLC, but only for students struggling with a few subjects.
Mrs. Sibulo closed the discussion with remarks about how they were thankful for the parents’ attendance at the meeting.
The orientation ended with guardians and parents having their thoughts addressed and gaining a better understanding of the NLC program.
