Tropical Village National High School (TVNHS) hosted a two-day seminar titled “Focus on Inclusion: Programs and Services for Learners with Disability” on November 4 and 5, held in the Multipurpose Room.

The seminar brought together selected students and teachers, enhancing their understanding and skills for supporting learners with disabilities.

Day 1 Highlights:

Mrs. Ma. Teresa Colada led an engaging session on the basics of Sign Language, empowering participants to communicate more inclusively with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Day 2 Highlights:

Mrs. Angelita P. Allarey, OIC-Head and Guidance advocate, provided an in-depth discussion on the process of creating an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The session guided participants on how to tailor educational goals to meet each learner’s unique needs, further promoting an inclusive learning environment.

This seminar marks TVNHS’s continued commitment to inclusion and support for all learners.

On November 5, Tropical Village National High School conducted a seminar titled “Upskilling Teachers and Parents in DevelopingGender-Responsive Strategies, Interventions, and Support in Managing Difficult and Challenged Students.” The event, part of Project SAGIP-CONNECT and overseen by School Head Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, took place in the school’s Multipurpose Room.

PSMS Lovely G. Gonzales from the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of General Trias City served as the resource speaker. She provided an in-depth discussion on Republic Act No. 7610, known as the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.” This law aims to safeguard children from various forms of abuse and exploitation, emphasizing the state’s commitment to their welfare and development.

The seminar fostered an interactive environment where teachers and parents actively participated, sharing their experiences and raising questions. This engagement enriched the program, enhancing the collective understanding of effective strategies and interventions for managing students facing challenges.

Selected Tropicalian learners under the Project SAGIP-C.O.N.N.E.C.T Feeding Program enjoyed their healthy snacks today, sponsored by Mrs. Nora O. Castro, the SPTA Treasurer.
