Convocation: Showcasing Students’ Talent and Achievement

Department of Education (DepEd) has a 5-point agenda which are the following: an enabling learning environment, welfare of teachers, the well-being of learners, efficient learning delivery in all its forms and a future-ready workforce.

The Department of Education (DepEd) issued DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2024, which provides guidelines for the implementation of the school calendar and activities for School Year 2024–2025. This order ensures that all activities align with the MATATAG Agenda and maximize instructional time while fostering holistic student development.

In compliance with this order, Tropical Village National High School (TVNHS) follows its School Calendar of Activities SM No-08-001, which highlights the MAPEH Culminating Activity as a platform for students to showcase their skills, talents, and achievements in various disciplines. This event emphasizes their dedication and growth while promoting teamwork, self-expression, and holistic development.

To support DepEd’s mission of quality education, the school conducted the MAPEH Culminating Activity last March 28, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at TVNHS Covered Court, where students applied what they have learned throughout the academic year and reinforce experiential learning. The MAPEH Culminating Activity is implemented in schools to provide students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in real-life situations, promote collaboration and self-expression, and enhance their holistic development through meaningful and engaging experiences. The program started with registration and assisted by Carmina V. Lesondra and grade 10 teachers, then followed by the entrance ofparticipants: students, faculty and staff head teachers, principal and guests. The national anthem was conducted by TVNHS Drum and Lyre band, followed by ecumenical prayer through audio visual presentation or AVP. The opening salvo was presented by selected grade 7-10 students, and which was performed by superb and excellent performances

Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Principal IV, gave his opening remarks and inspired the students, teachers, faculty and staff, SPTA and quests. Followed by a message of support from Laura O. Garcia, CID Chief and Ivan Brian Inductivo, ASDS, and SPTA President Jeanelyn T. Panes.

The Cotillion De Honor was performed by selected students, then followed by the group dance from grade 9 and 10 students, and all the participants, together with teachers and staff performed the community dance during the convocation. The program was filled with different talents and skills featuring the work of arts and paintings crafted and worked by the students and was displayed the area. The event was energized by special numbers like sing and dance from selected students, and all the teachers prepared a special number to ignite and spice up the event. The Queen and King of the Night was also announced and awarded the chosen students that wear his or her best dress during the night, indeed the whole event was full of meaningful memories and enjoyment that will cherish by the students for the rest of their lives.

Isaias R. Paraiso Jr., Head Teacher I, gave his closing remarks. The program started at 3pm and ended at exactly 8 pm. Jaymark C. Doca and Jade Rhodie B. Dela Rama were in-charge of the ceremony.
