
Tropical Village National High School (TVNHS) officially opened its much-awaited Intramurals on September 25, 2025, with the theme “A Showcase of Excellence, Sportsmanship, and Unbreakable Spirit of Inclusivity and Unity.” The event brought together students, teachers, and school leaders in a vibrant celebration of sports, camaraderie, and talent.
The day began with the registration of participants from 8:00 to 9:00 in the morning, followed by the opening program. The event started with the singing of the National Anthem led by the Drum and Lyre, Glee Club, and selected students of TVNHS. An ecumenical prayer presented through an AVP was offered, symbolizing unity in diversity, after which the TVNHS Drum and Lyre Band gave a special presentation that energized the crowd and set the festive mood.
In his welcome remarks, Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus, Principal IV, underscored the importance of camaraderie, discipline, and fair play as the core values of the intramurals. He also reminded the learners that “In playing, student-athletes can bend their body but should not bend the rules,” stressing the significance of integrity in every competition. Distinguished guests also graced the event with their message of support, including Arlene M. Hernandez, PSDS–Cluster 9.
The introduction of the keynote speaker was led by Reynaldo A. Colima, TVNHS Sports Coordinator, followed by the message of Joseph Tito N. Ocampo, Principal I of Pansin Elementary School, District of Alfonso, who highlighted the role of sports in honing discipline, teamwork, and excellence among learners. He emphasized that student-athletes should be balanced in being a student and an athlete as well, reminding everyone of the need to prioritize both academics and sports in equal measure.
In his Statement of Purpose, Isaias R. Paraiso Jr., Head Teacher I, underlined the goal of the intramurals in fostering not only athleticism but also unity, inclusivity, and the holistic development of every learner.
Excitement filled the air as the program featured the Yell Competition, showcasing the creativity and school spirit of each team. Adding to the highlights was the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2025 pageant, where students confidently represented their respective groups with pride and grace.
The Grade 11 students captivated the audience with a special presentation, bringing energy and artistry to the stage. The much-anticipated Awarding of Winners was led by Arlene M. Hernandez (PSDS – Cluster 9), and Dr. Mark Airon P. Creus (Principal IV), recognizing the outstanding performances of learners in different contests.
To instill the values of fairness and integrity, the Oath of Sportsmanship was led by Wafa O. Omar, SSLG President. This was followed by the symbolic Torch Lighting carried out by Mark Eugene P. Garcia, Gold Medalist in the Regional Athletic Meet 2024, igniting the flame of unity and competition.
With cheers, applause, and unyielding energy, Intramurals 2025 officially commenced, marking another milestone in TVNHS’s commitment to promoting holistic education through sports and cultural activities. The event not only showcased athletic talent but also strengthened the bonds of friendship, inclusivity, and sportsmanship among the learners.
As the games and competitions unfold in the coming days, the entire TVNHS community looks forward to witnessing the determination, teamwork, and excellence of its students, proving once again that sports are more than just games—they are a celebration of unity and school pride.
